The 2001 Corvette C5-R by Pratt & Miller, chassis C5R-007, boasts an extensive period European racing history and is now offered in iconic Teamcar livery after a comprehensive restoration by Art & Revs. With shakedown miles only since the restoration, this vehicle is accompanied by a significant spares package and is eligible for a growing number of premier events in the USA and Europe.

The C5-R was a purpose-built race car, utilizing the most advanced technologies and materials available at the time. Initially equipped with a 366 CI V-8 engine, it was later replaced with a 327 CI engine built by Katech Engine Development, producing over 650 horsepower. The C5-R featured a sequential 6-speed transaxle, carbon on carbon brakes, and a body fabricated from carbon/Kevlar materials, making it one of the most advanced big bore GT machines of its time.

During its core years of success, the Pratt & Miller C5-Rs earned 31 class victories in the American Le Mans Series, including multiple wins at the 12 hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. The C5-Rs also achieved a trio of class wins at the 24 hours of Le Mans and an overall victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona, with four consecutive American Le Mans series championships on North American soil.

C5R-007 was initially constructed over the winter of 2001 and was used as a backup and test car before being supplied to Patrick Selleslagh, the owner of SRT Racing in Belgium, in 2003. The car competed in the Belcar series from 2003 to 2007 and later in the FIA GT series, achieving six class victories and six podium results during its period competition career.

Following its contemporary racing career, C5R-007 was purchased by the consignor, a recognized expert in modern GT racing machines, and comprehensively restored to period specification. The restoration is well-documented, and the car has seen only one track outing since, at the 80th Goodwood Members Meeting, where it was driven by GT racing great Marino Franchini.

C5R-007 is now eligible for a growing number of premier racing venues, including Peter Auto's Endurance Racing Legend's, Le Mans Classic, Spa Classic, and the Masters Endurance Series. Accompanied by a significant spares package, including an engine, gearbox, and bodywork, this Pratt & Miller-built customer C5-R enjoys the same entry credentials and competitiveness as more expensive factory-campaigned chassis, awaiting its next custodian to fill out their entry form and appear on the grid.
