Overview
Introduction to the 1994 Ruf RCT
Ruf’s 1st RCT, the only RCT (Ruf Carrera Turbo) built on a 964 Carrera RS chassis, boasts a 3.6L turbocharged flat six, producing 370HP and 396 lb-ft of torque, paired with a Ruf 6-speed manual transmission. This rare vehicle is accompanied by a Zertificat (COA), service records, books, toolkit, and RCO EVO spoiler, as well as Recaro pole position bucket seats.
Design and Performance
Finished in Polar Silver, a new Porsche silver introduced in the early 1990s, this RCT features a black interior and subtle design cues such as door sill plates, a 3-spoke steering wheel, gear lever, and gauges in vintage 356 green numbers and raised limits. The 964 generation 911 Carrera RS chassis provides additional rigidity, with a seam-welded unibody, aluminum hood, and reduced insulation, making it an ideal canvas for the RCT.
The specialty Ruf engine is the center of attention, with a 3.6-Liter Turbocharged Flat 6 and Bosch-Motronic Engine Management, producing 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a Ruf-designed 6-speed manual transmission, this Ruf RCT is a pure driver’s car.
Provenance and History
This particular RCT is special, as it was featured in Ruf’s RCT brochure and many magazine articles of the time. According to the car's German Fahrzeugbrief, the car remained under Ruf’s ownership from construction in 1993 until September 1994, then changing hands to its first private owner in Heisberg, Germany, who maintained the vehicle with Ruf for 23 years.
The car was later imported to North America in 2021, after its final European annual service at Porsche Zentrum Dusseldorf. With a legacy rooted in passion and craftsmanship, Ruf continues to shape the automotive landscape, inspiring enthusiasts worldwide with its unique blend of heritage, innovation, and driving exhilaration.
