Overview
Introduction
The 2005 Ford GT is a heritage-based supercar that was built in part to celebrate Ford’s 100th birthday. With its sleek, powerful, and fast design, it is undeniably linked to the 4-time winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This vehicle is a modern interpretation of a historic race car for the road and is still regarded as one of the best today.
Design and Features
The Ford GT took numerous design elements from the original race cars, such as the headlights, the swooping rear clamshell, the motorsports-inspired seats, and a simple yet-elegant 6-speed shifter. The dash is centered around the driver, recreating the almost cockpit-like experience of the original Le Mans racers. This particular 2005 Ford GT was spec’d in Mark IV Red with a black leather interior and features all 4 Ford factory options: McIntosh audio system, BBS alloy wheels, over-body racing stripes, and red brake calipers.
History and Condition
This 2005 Ford GT was ordered by Brenegen Ford Mercury of Sparta, Wisconsin and was sold to its 1st and only caretaker on November 11th, 2005. The caretaker kept the car in a climate-controlled garage for their entire ownership, enjoying the car occasionally and having all factory bulletins performed. After a little more than 20 years with the Ford GT, the odometer read just 4,711 miles. The vehicle has been thoroughly inspected and detailed, with the paint finish in like-new condition and the interior showing little to no wear.
Specifications
This 2005 Ford GT features a 5.4L DOHC supercharged V8 engine producing 550hp, 500 lb-ft of torque, and a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission. It has a top speed of 205mph and can go from 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds. With its original window sticker, books, tools, and compressor, this vehicle is a prime example of the brand and a special opportunity for a lucky new owner to experience what owning a new Ford GT might have been like.
