History and Provenance
This 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra S/C, CSX4309, was purchased by its original owner, Rick Jeffery, from Shelby American on April 18th, 2003. It was specified with the rare, all-aluminum body and high-performance 427 aluminum engine. In 2008, it was acquired by its second owner, Ed Gilbertson, a retired Chief Judge of Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, who maintained the vehicle at the highest level for 13 years.
Maintenance and Upgrades
Under Ed Gilbertson's ownership, the Cobra was regularly maintained by Canepa. When Gilbertson handed over the keys to Bruce Canepa in 2021, the vehicle underwent the 'Canepa Difference' process to ensure it was in excellent condition. Bruce Canepa also added his personal design touch, changing the angle of the windshield and lowering and aligning the suspension.
